Acceptable Use Policy

Effective August 10, 2026 · Last updated August 10, 2026

We host pages on your behalf and send email on your behalf. That means what you publish does not only affect you. It affects the visitors who land on your pages, the other customers who share our infrastructure, and the reputation of the hosting, security and email providers we depend on. This policy is the line we hold so that one bad actor cannot damage everyone else.

This policy is part of our Terms of Service. Breaking it is a breach of that agreement.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to everyone who uses DearConvert and to everything published through it: pages, forms, popups, uploaded files, custom domains, and the code or tracking you add to your own pages.

It also applies to every workspace you control. If you are an agency, that includes your client workspaces. If you invite a client, a contractor or a colleague into a workspace, you are responsible for what they publish there. You cannot hand the account to someone else and treat their behaviour as nothing to do with you.

Trial accounts and Free plan accounts are covered in exactly the same way as paid ones.

2. Content and conduct that is never allowed

Do not use DearConvert for any of the following. There is no grey area in this list and no plan tier that unlocks it.

Illegal content and activity

  • Anything unlawful in the country you operate in or the countries you target.
  • Selling or promoting goods or services you are not legally allowed to sell, including controlled substances, weapons, stolen goods, counterfeits and stolen data.
  • Facilitating human trafficking, terrorism or any other serious crime.

Phishing, credential harvesting and impersonation

  • Pages designed to collect passwords, one-time codes, banking logins, wallet seed phrases or any other credential.
  • Copying the look, name or branding of a bank, payment provider, government body, delivery company, software product or any other organisation you do not represent.
  • Pretending to be a person you are not, or claiming an endorsement, partnership or affiliation you do not have.
  • Using a domain, subdomain or page title chosen to be mistaken for someone else's.

Malware and harmful code

  • Hosting, distributing or linking to malware, spyware, ransomware, keyloggers, cryptominers or exploit kits.
  • Injecting scripts intended to attack, redirect, deceive or take over a visitor's browser or device.
  • Linking to any page that does the above, including through a redirect chain.

Fraud and deception

  • Fake offers, bait and switch pricing, non-existent products, or checkout flows that charge for something you do not deliver.
  • Pyramid schemes, chain schemes, matrix schemes and get rich quick programmes.
  • Guaranteed investment returns, guaranteed income claims, or any promise of results you cannot substantiate.
  • Invented testimonials, fabricated reviews, made up case study numbers, borrowed logos of clients you never had, or fake countdown timers and fake stock counts used to pressure people.
  • Deceptive claims about health, weight loss, earnings, immigration outcomes or legal outcomes.

Sexual exploitation

  • Any sexual content involving a minor, in any form, real or generated. We report this to the authorities and close the account with no notice and no appeal.
  • Content that sexually exploits or abuses any person, including non-consensual imagery, intimate images shared without consent, and content promoting sexual services obtained through coercion or trafficking.

Harassment, threats and hate

  • Targeting a person with harassment, bullying, stalking, doxxing or intimidation.
  • Threats of violence against anyone, or content that incites, praises or organises violence.
  • Content that attacks or dehumanises people because of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.

Regulated activity without authorisation

  • Gambling, betting, lotteries or sweepstakes where you lack the required licence for the audience you target.
  • Pharmaceuticals, prescription drugs, supplements with medical claims, or medical devices without the required authorisation.
  • Financial services such as lending, credit brokering, insurance, investment advice, securities offerings or crypto services where you are not authorised or registered to offer them.
  • Any other licensed profession you are not licensed to practise.

Intellectual property

  • Publishing copy, images, video, fonts, templates or code you do not have the rights to use.
  • Using someone else's trademark, logo or brand name in a way that suggests they are involved with you.
  • Copyright complaints are handled through our Copyright and DMCA Policy.

3. Data collection rules

Your forms collect other people's personal data. These are the conditions attached to that.

  • Have a lawful basis and give proper notice. Tell visitors who you are, what you are collecting, why, and what happens next. Link your own privacy policy on any page with a form. Do not bury the purpose or collect data for one reason and use it for another.
  • No children. Do not use DearConvert forms to knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16, and do not design pages aimed at children.
  • Special category data needs real justification. Do not collect health or medical information, biometric data, genetic data, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, sexual orientation or sex life details, or precise financial account data, unless you have a lawful basis for it and appropriate safeguards in place. If you cannot explain your basis in one sentence, do not collect it.
  • Never collect payment card details. Do not put a card number, expiry date, CVV or bank account credential field in a DearConvert form, and do not ask for them in a free text field. DearConvert forms are not a cardholder data environment and are not built for it. Use a proper payment provider.
  • Honour requests from the people whose data you collected. If someone asks you for a copy of their data, asks you to correct it, or asks you to delete it, that request is yours to answer. You control the leads in your account and you have the tools to act. If a request reaches us instead, we will pass it to you.
  • Do not upload data you obtained unlawfully into DearConvert, and do not use our forms to launder a list you cannot account for.

Our respective roles for lead data are set out in our Data Processing Agreement and explained in our Privacy Policy.

4. Email and messaging rules

These are the rules we enforce most strictly, and the section below explains exactly why.

  • Leads must be given to you. Every contact in your account has to come from a person who filled in your form or otherwise gave you their details knowingly.
  • No purchased, rented, scraped or swapped lists. Not through our forms, not imported, not appended, not "verified" by a third party who sold it to you.
  • No unsolicited bulk email of any kind, sent to any list, from any address, in connection with pages you publish through us.
  • Follow the law where your recipients are. That includes CAN-SPAM in the United States, CASL in Canada, the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules in the EEA, PECR in the UK, and the equivalent in every other market you mail into.
  • Include a working unsubscribe in every marketing message, honour it promptly, and identify yourself honestly in the from address and the subject line.
Why we are strict about this. DearConvert sends your lead notifications, password resets and usage warnings through a transactional email provider, and that provider prohibits unsolicited messages and purchased lists. If one customer uses our platform to feed a bought list, the complaints and spam reports land on our sending reputation, not just theirs. That can degrade or cut off lead notification email for every other customer on the platform. So we treat this as a serious breach rather than a warning-worthy mistake.

5. Platform and technical rules

  • No security testing without written permission. Do not probe, scan, fuzz or run penetration tests against DearConvert, our app, our API or our edge infrastructure unless we have agreed to it in writing first. If you have found something, tell us and we will thank you.
  • Do not work around plan limits. No creating multiple accounts to get more free pages or lead allowance, no sharing one subscription across unrelated businesses in place of separate plans, and no manipulating lead counting or usage metering.
  • No reselling or redistributing the platform. Agencies can absolutely build and manage pages for clients, that is what the Agency plan is for. What you may not do is resell DearConvert itself, white label it as your own product, or give clients direct access as if you were the vendor.
  • Do not use the service to build a competing product, and do not reverse engineer, decompile or scrape the platform to copy how it works.
  • No deliberate overloading. No denial of service traffic, no automated submission floods against your own or anyone else's forms, no artificially inflating page views or conversions, and no using our infrastructure as a general purpose file host or proxy.
  • Respect the upload cap. Files are capped at 10 MB each. Do not try to bypass it by splitting, chunking or scripting uploads.
  • Do not disable safeguards. Do not remove, break or evade the spam protection on your forms and then complain about the consequences.

Traffic and page views are unlimited and we are not looking for reasons to complain about a page that goes viral. This section is about deliberate abuse, not success.

6. How we enforce this

Our full moderation process, including how content comes to our attention, is described in the moderation section of our Terms of Service. In short: we do not pre-screen what you publish, we act on reports and on signals from our providers and from limited automated checks, and removal decisions are made by a person.

Where we conclude that something breaks this policy, the measures available to us are, roughly from lightest to heaviest:

MeasureWhat it meansTypical use
WarningWe tell you what to fix and give you a deadlineA first, fixable problem such as a missing privacy notice
Unpublish a pageThat page stops being served, the content stays in your accountOne page breaks the rules, the rest of the account is fine
Disable a formThe form stops accepting submissionsData collection problems, card fields, credential harvesting
Restrict a featureSomething such as an integration or custom domain is turned offThe abuse runs through one specific capability
Suspend a workspaceEverything in that workspace stops being servedA single client workspace is the problem
Suspend the accountAccess and publishing are paused while we investigateSerious or repeated breaches
Close the accountThe account ends and pages stop being servedSevere abuse, or a pattern that keeps repeating

We aim to pick the narrowest measure that actually solves the problem, and to give you a chance to fix things where a fix is possible.

Some things get actioned immediately, without warning. Clear phishing, credential harvesting, malware, fraud, and content that endangers people or involves child sexual abuse material are removed as soon as we are satisfied what we are looking at. We are not going to leave a fake bank login page online while we wait for a reply.

You will be told why. If we remove, disable, restrict or suspend anything of yours, we send you a statement of reasons: what we acted on, the ground we relied on, the facts behind the decision, whether automated means were involved, and how to contest it. You can reply to ask us to reconsider, and a person will look at it again. We can get things wrong, and when we do we would like the chance to put it right.

Repeat offenders are closed. If the same account keeps publishing unlawful or infringing content, we stop giving it new chances.

Accounts closed for breaking this policy are not refunded. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy.

7. Reporting a violation

If you have found a page published through DearConvert that breaks this policy, please tell us. Use our report abuse page, which is the fastest route because it asks for the details we need up front, or email team@dearconvert.com.

Include the full page address, what you believe is wrong with it, and how to reach you if we need to ask a question. If you are reporting on behalf of a brand being impersonated, say who you are and who you represent. You do not need an account with us to report something.

  • Copyright infringement goes through our Copyright and DMCA Policy, which has its own notice and counter-notice process.
  • Privacy and data requests go through our data request page.
  • Security vulnerabilities in DearConvert itself: see our security page.

8. Changes to this policy

Abuse patterns change, so this policy will change with them. We will update the date at the top, and for material changes we will notify customers by email. If a change means something you currently publish is no longer allowed, we will tell you rather than simply removing it.
