Refund and Cancellation Policy
This page tells you exactly when you get money back, when you do not, and how to cancel. We have written it to be clear before you buy, not after. If anything here is unclear, email us and ask before you subscribe.
- You never have to pay to try DearConvert. The Free plan is free forever, and the 14-day Pro trial needs no credit card.
- You can cancel any time from Settings then Billing. No phone call, no email required, no cancellation fee.
- First paid subscription: 30-day money-back guarantee. Email support within 30 days of your first charge and we refund it in full. No questionnaire.
- After that window, renewals are not refunded, and cancelling mid-period does not refund the unused part of that period.
1. Try before you pay
Most refund requests happen because someone bought before they knew whether the product fit. We have built two ways to avoid that.
- The Free plan is free for as long as you want it. One published page and 100 leads a month, with unlimited traffic. It is not a countdown, it does not expire, and you can run a real page on it.
- The 14-day Pro trial needs no credit card. New organizations get 14 days of Pro features without entering any payment details. When the trial ends, if you have not subscribed, the account simply moves to the Free plan. Nothing charges automatically, because we never had a card to charge.
So you can build your pages, publish them, collect real leads and test the integrations you care about before you spend anything. We would rather you did that than subscribe on faith and ask for the money back later.
2. How to cancel
In the app, go to Settings then Billing and cancel there. That is the whole process. You do not need to email us, and we do not put a retention obstacle in the way.
What happens next:
- You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Cancelling does not cut you off mid-month or mid-year.
- At the end of that period the account moves to the Free plan and the Free plan limits apply.
- We do not delete your content. Your pages, forms and leads stay in your account. Pages above the Free plan published-page limit stop being served, but they are not deleted and come straight back if you subscribe again.
- Export what you need. You can export your leads as CSV at any time while the account is active, and there is no charge for getting your own data out.
- There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term to buy your way out of.
Cancelling stops future charges. On its own it does not produce a refund of a charge already taken, which is what the next two sections are about.
3. Our money-back guarantee
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first paid subscription.
If you subscribe to a paid plan for the first time and DearConvert is not right for you, email team@dearconvert.com within 30 days of that first charge and we will refund it in full. You do not have to fill in a questionnaire, sit through a save attempt or justify your reasons. Telling us what did not work is useful to us, but it is not a condition.
The conditions that do apply:
- It covers your first paid subscription only, meaning the first payment you ever make to us.
- It is available once per customer. If you subscribe again later, the guarantee has already been used.
- The request has to reach us within 30 days of that first charge.
- It applies to the subscription payment itself, on monthly and annual plans alike.
When we refund under the guarantee we also cancel the subscription, so nothing renews. The account moves to the Free plan and your content stays where it is.
4. What is not refunded
Being specific here so there are no surprises.
| Situation | Refunded? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| First paid subscription, asked within 30 days | Yes, in full | Our money-back guarantee |
| Genuine duplicate charge | Yes, in full | You were charged twice for one thing |
| Renewal payment after the guarantee window | No | Renewals are not refundable. You can cancel before the next one to stop it |
| Unused time after you cancel mid-period | No | You keep full access to the end of the period you paid for, so it is not unused |
| Account closed by us for breaking the Acceptable Use Policy | No | See our Acceptable Use Policy |
| You forgot to cancel before a renewal | Case by case | Email us. We are reasonable about honest mistakes, especially if the account was clearly unused |
A few more points worth stating plainly:
- Renewals. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and we email you about your subscription. Once the guarantee window has passed, a renewal charge is not refundable, so cancel before the renewal date if you do not want it.
- Downgrades. Moving to a cheaper plan takes effect for future billing. We do not refund the difference for the period you are already in.
- Not using the service during a period you paid for is not on its own a ground for a refund, though see the last row of the table.
- Nothing in this section removes rights you have under consumer law where you live. If your local law gives you a stronger right to cancel or be refunded, that law wins.
5. Failed or duplicate charges
If you were charged twice for the same subscription period, or charged after cancelling, that is our problem to fix and not a judgement call. Tell us at team@dearconvert.com with the date and amount, and we refund the duplicate in full. The guarantee is irrelevant here, because you should not have been charged at all.
If a payment fails, we may retry it and we will email you. Nothing is refunded in that case because nothing was successfully taken. If the payment stays unresolved, paid features may be suspended until it is sorted out, and your content stays in your account in the meantime.
If you see a charge from us you do not recognise at all, email us before anything else. It is usually a renewal on a plan bought under a different email address, and we can identify it quickly.
6. How refunds are issued
- Refunds go back through PayPal to the original payment method you paid with. We cannot send a refund to a different card, account or person.
- They are issued in the same currency as the original payment.
- Once we approve a refund we submit it straight away. It typically appears within 5 to 10 business days business days, though the exact timing is set by PayPal and your bank, not by us.
- We never see or store your card number, so all of this happens on the payment provider's side. See our Privacy Policy.
- We do not issue account credit in place of a refund unless you ask for it.
7. Annual plans
Annual plans are cheaper per month because you commit for a year. To be clear about what that means:
- A first annual subscription is covered by the same 30-day money-back guarantee as a monthly one. Ask within 30 days of that first charge and you get the whole year's payment back.
- After that 30-day window, an annual subscription runs to the end of its term. You can cancel at any time so that it does not renew, and you keep full access until the term ends, but we do not refund the remaining months.
- If you are not certain a year is right, start monthly, or use the Free plan and the Pro trial first. Both routes cost you nothing to find out.
- Your price is locked for as long as your subscription stays continuously active, so an annual plan you keep renewing keeps the rate you signed up at.
8. Taxes
If tax such as VAT or sales tax was charged on top of your subscription, it is refunded together with the payment it belonged to, wherever the law allows us to reclaim or reverse it. If a tax authority does not permit that in your case, we refund the part we can and tell you exactly what was withheld and why.
9. If you disagree with us
Email us before you open a chargeback. Write to team@dearconvert.com and explain what happened. In practice almost every dispute is a duplicate charge, a forgotten renewal or a misunderstanding about what a plan included, and all three are quick for us to fix directly. A refund from us reaches you faster than a chargeback does.
If you open a chargeback or a payment dispute without contacting us first, we may suspend the account while the dispute is investigated, because we have to respond to the payment provider and we cannot keep serving a subscription whose payment is being reversed. Your content is not deleted while that happens.
If you have contacted us and you still think we have got it wrong, say so and ask for it to be looked at again. A person will review it. If you are a consumer, you keep every right your local law gives you, including any right to take the matter to a consumer body or a court, and nothing on this page limits that.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Any change applies to payments made after the change takes effect, never retrospectively to a payment you have already made. We will update the date at the top, and for material changes we will notify customers by email.
