Unbounce vs Instapage vs Leadpages (2026): The Honest Comparison
Three landing page builders. Three very different bills at the end of the month. We spent weeks pulling the real 2026 pricing, the traffic caps, the overage fees, and the fine print for all three tools, and put it in one table so you don't have to open fifteen tabs.
What to show: A clean side-by-side graphic with the Unbounce, Instapage, and Leadpages logos above three price tags ($99, $99, $99) and a caption "same entry price, wildly different limits"

The 30-second answer
Here's the thing nobody says out loud: in 2026, all three tools start at roughly the same sticker price, and the real differences hide in the limits.
- Unbounce is the feature leader with real AI optimization, but it meters your visitors hard. Its $29 Starter plan includes just 500 visitors a month, and going over your cap now triggers an $80 charge for every extra block of 10,000 visits.
- Instapage is the enterprise choice for big PPC teams. Beautiful builder, serious collaboration tools, and the highest prices in the category. A/B testing starts at $199 per month, and heatmaps are locked behind a sales call.
- Leadpages rebuilt everything in 2026 and now gives you unlimited traffic and A/B testing on every plan, which is genuinely great. The trade is a $99 entry price, one seat on that plan, and a new AI credits meter that can run out mid-month.
And because you'll ask: yes, our own tool, DearConvert, appears in the big table below as a fourth column. We start at $19 with unlimited traffic and A/B testing on every plan, including the free one. We're newer and smaller than all three, and we'll be upfront about what we don't have yet.
Unbounce: strong AI, painful caps
Let's give credit where it's due. Unbounce has been doing this since 2009, its template library is huge, and Smart Traffic (the AI that routes each visitor to the variant most likely to convert them) is a real, working differentiator. Their Conversion Benchmark Report is the data source half the industry quotes.
Now the bill. Unbounce sells four self-serve plans in 2026:
| Plan | Monthly | Annual (per month) | Visitors included | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29 | $22 | 500 | 5 pages, 1 user, no popups, no A/B testing |
| Build | $99 | $74 | 20,000 | Still no A/B testing |
| Experiment | $149 | $112 | 30,000 | A/B testing finally unlocks here |
| Optimize | $249 | $187 | 50,000 | Smart Traffic unlocks here |
Read that middle column again. Five hundred visitors on the $29 plan is not a landing page plan, it's a demo. And the feature laddering means the two things most people buy a landing page tool for, testing and AI optimization, cost $149 and $249 respectively.
The part that surprises people most is the overage policy. Since November 2025, going over your traffic cap triggers a charge of $80 for each additional 10,000 visits, or any part of that block. One viral post, one good ad day, one bot swarm, and a single visitor over the line costs you $80. Users on review sites report surprise bills and steep renewal increases, with some documented price jumps of well over 100% for legacy customers. We wrote a whole breakdown in our guide to Unbounce overage charges and a full Unbounce pricing explainer.
Choose Unbounce if: you have real budget, your traffic is predictable, and Smart Traffic's AI optimization is worth $249 a month to you. For many teams it genuinely is.

Instapage: premium polish, premium bill
Instapage is what happens when a landing page builder decides to only chase serious ad budgets. The builder is gorgeous. Instablocks let you reuse sections across hundreds of pages. AdMap connects your ad campaigns to matching pages visually, and their collaboration tools (real-time comments and client review) are the best in the category. Big teams running big PPC spend love it for a reason.
The pricing reflects exactly who it's for:
- Create: $99 per month ($79 on annual) with 15,000 unique visitors, one workspace, and two subdomains. No A/B testing.
- Optimize: $199 per month ($159 annual) for 30,000 visitors, or $299 for 50,000. This is where A/B testing, dynamic text replacement, and AdMap live.
- Convert: custom pricing, sales-led, annual contracts. Published market data puts typical contracts around $22,500 per year. Heatmaps and ad-to-page personalization only exist here.
A few things to know before the trial: the 14-day trial requires a credit card and converts automatically, publishing to a root domain (yourbrand.com rather than a subdomain) is enterprise-only, and there's no HTML export if you ever want to leave. One workspace on the $99 plan also makes multi-client work basically impossible without jumping tiers. We dig into the renewal-increase complaints in our Instapage pricing breakdown.
Choose Instapage if: you're a mid-size or enterprise PPC team, you'll actually use AdMap and the collaboration flow, and the tool cost is a rounding error next to your ad spend.
Leadpages: the 2026 rebuild
Leadpages deserves real credit for 2026. They rebuilt the product from scratch and made two decisions we think the whole industry should copy: unlimited traffic on every plan, and A/B testing on every plan. If you've read the rest of this post you know how rare that combination is.
The 2026 lineup looks like this:
- Grow: $99 per month ($79 annual). Unlimited pages and traffic, A/B testing with 2 variants, 4 custom domains, 1 seat, 5 native integration slots, and 40,000 AI credits a month.
- Optimize: $199 per month ($159 annual). More variants, more domains, 3 seats, 10 integrations, Smart Traffic-style AI routing, 80,000 AI credits.
- Scale: $399 per month ($319 annual). 10 seats, workspaces, audit logs, and the full AI optimization loop.
So where's the catch? Three places. First, the entry price doubled compared to the old Leadpages, so the brand people remember as "the affordable one" now starts at $99. Second, the meter moved rather than disappeared: instead of traffic, Leadpages now counts AI credits, seats, domains, and integration slots, and AI credit top-ups start adding up if you lean on the AI builder. Third, the 7-day trial requires a credit card and charges you on day seven.
Choose Leadpages if: you want a mature tool with unlimited traffic, you're a solo marketer or small team that fits in the seat limits, and $99 a month fits your budget.
Quick reality check: all three tools above gate something you probably want (testing, traffic, or seats) behind $149 to $399 plans. DearConvert includes unlimited traffic, unlimited team members, and A/B testing on every plan, starting free.

Which one should you pick?
You're a solo founder or small business. Skip Unbounce's Starter plan, 500 visitors disappears in a weekend. Leadpages works if $99 fits your budget. If it doesn't, DearConvert's $19 Starter gives you ten published pages, a thousand leads a month, your own domain, and testing included.
You're running serious paid traffic. Instapage and Unbounce both shine here, if the budget is there. Just do the math on visitor caps first: at 100,000 visitors a month, Unbounce's overage policy or Instapage's tier-jumping can add hundreds to your bill. Our unlimited traffic comparison runs those numbers. And if iOS tracking loss is hurting your reporting, DearConvert ships Meta Conversions API on the $49 plan, which the others simply don't offer at this price.
You're an agency. This is where the market gets silly. Unbounce says "talk to sales." Instapage points you at a $22,500 contract. Leadpages wants $399 a month. DearConvert's Agency plan is $99 a month, flat, with unlimited client workspaces. We did the per-client math here.
You want AI-driven optimization. Unbounce's Smart Traffic at $249 is the most proven option, and Leadpages' Scale plan runs a full AI testing loop. That's a fair reason to pay more. Start with normal A/B testing first, though. Most pages have never had a single honest test run on them.
Where DearConvert honestly fits
We're the newest tool in this table, and it shows in places. Our template library is smaller than Unbounce's. We don't have heatmaps. Our client review workflow is still rolling out to founding agencies. If you need those today, the tools above are excellent.
What we did instead was remove every meter that makes the other bills unpredictable. Unlimited traffic on every plan, because pages are served from a global edge network and your traffic costs us almost nothing. Unlimited team members, because seat fees punish collaboration. A/B testing everywhere, including the free plan, because testing is the whole point of landing pages. You pay for one number, the leads you actually collect, and if you go over, we hold the extra leads safely and release them the moment you upgrade. Nobody loses a lead, and nobody gets an $80 surprise.
FAQ
Which is cheapest: Unbounce, Instapage, or Leadpages?
On sticker price, Unbounce's $29 Starter is cheapest, but its 500-visitor cap makes it unusable for real campaigns. For a working setup, Leadpages at $99 is the cheapest of the three, and DearConvert's $19 Starter undercuts them all with unlimited traffic included.
Which has the best A/B testing?
Leadpages and DearConvert include A/B testing on every plan. Unbounce's testing (from $149) and AI Smart Traffic (from $249) are more advanced but expensive. Instapage's server-side testing at $199 is excellent for large PPC teams.
Do any of these tools have unlimited traffic?
Leadpages and DearConvert offer unlimited traffic on all plans. Unbounce caps visitors at 500 to 50,000 per month with overage fees, and Instapage caps unique visitors at 15,000 to 50,000 depending on plan.
Which is best for agencies?
On features alone, Instapage's enterprise tier is strong but costs around $22,500 a year. For transparent pricing, DearConvert's $99 Agency plan with unlimited client workspaces is the most affordable option, followed by Leadpages Scale at $399 a month.
Can I try them without a credit card?
Unbounce's 14-day trial needs no card. Instapage and Leadpages both require a card and auto-charge when the trial ends. DearConvert needs no card and includes a free plan that never expires.
